LRMP Adopted by the County Board on April 22, 2010

The Champaign County Land Resource Management Plan (LRMP) was adopted by the Champaign County Board on April 22, 2010. The LRMP is provided below in pdf format, divided into chapters for your convenience.

Champaign County Land Evaluation and Site Assessment (LESA) System

In 1984, the County Board adopted Resolution #2248, accepting the Champaign County LESA system as:

"... a tool ... to be used in conjunction with the County's Land Use Goals and Policies... to provide valuable guidance and assistance to the County Board, the Environment and Land Use Committee (ELUC), and the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) in making land use decisions affecting the future development of the County's agricultural land."

Since Champaign County acceptance of the LESA system in 1984, LESA scores have been provided as supplementary information in preliminary memorandums to the County ZBA for rezoning and special use zoning cases involving the conversion of farmland or the conversion of undeveloped parcels. The Land Evaluation (LE) scores have been provided as information to ELUC regarding soils as subdivision scores are considered for approval.
