Well done Pat!
There is a new SHIP site in town.
Two Senior Services staff, Vicky Quitschau and Shirley Willard, attended 5-day training in Springfield and another ½ day training in Urbana to become Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) counselors. “The SHIP Counselor is a person who volunteers to objectively counsel people who have problems and questions with Medicare, Medicare Supplement, Medicare managed care and long term care insurance.” This program is under the auspices of the Illinois Department of Insurance. Notification was received May 24th that we have been identified as a SHIP site for this area. Vicky Quitschau will coordinate this program.
Congrats to Vicky and Shirl!
