Image Catalog  (159 KB)
This folder contains the 100 scale and 400 scale image catalogs for ArcMap.  The catalogs are actually Dbase tables (.dbf) that can be added directly to an ArcMap session.  These catalogs will provide a source of identification for the ortho images and an automatic method for viewing the images in ArcMap.  When these catalogs are loaded and displayed in Arc Map the ortho images will be displayed automatically in accordance with the zoom level and location of the view screen.  (The image catalogs require the presence of the ortho photographs on an accessible hard-drive.)

The catalogs can be edited directly in MS Excel to set the appropriate path within the catalog to the image location.  The catalogs supplied assume a folder structure identical to that on portable hard drive with a drive letter designation of d:\.  A sample path is shown below.
               d:\Aerial Photos\Aerials 100\0295_09.tif
If the images are to be installed on any drive other than d:\, use the replace function in Excel to change all drive designation of d:\ to whatever is appropriate for your installation.

This folder contains all data layers or feature classes currently distributed to Consortium members with access to SDE.   The SDE data was exported and placed into an ESRI personal geodatabase.  Although a personal geodatabase is in Access database format, the information should only be viewed using an ESRI product (i.e. ArcGIS ArcView or ArcInfo).  The feature classes are organized into categories or feature datasets.  All feature classes found in the CCGIS_Jan05.mdb personal geodatabase are currently in production and updates will be periodically provided

The construction of metadata or information describing each of the feature classes is also currently in production.  As metadata is completed it will be made available.  The names of each of the feature classes should provide a general explanation of the contents.  On the following page a brief description is provided for those feature classes that do not contain descriptive names.  Below is a description of the commonly used icons in an ESRI Geodatabase.  Please direct any questions regarding data contents to Leanne Brehob-Riley, GIS Manager, at 323-3313.

Tax Map Atlas - Book and/or CD

The Champaign County GIS Consortium (CCGIS) has been working in cooperation with the Champaign County Assessment Office to produce the Tax Map Atlas for Champaign County since 2004.  Champaign County tax atlases were first produced and maintained by the Sidwell Company in 1971.  Champaign County assumed responsibility for tax map maintenance in 1983 while Sidwell contracted to be the sole source distributor of the 1⁄2 size atlases until 2003 when their contract expired.

The CCGIS now assumes production of the 1⁄2 size atlases beginning with the 27th edition, 2004 Tax Map Atlas.  The new, locally produced tax map atlas has several important benefits.  The tax map atlas is not copyrighted and is not leased (books are owned by the purchaser). The atlas also includes a new township index page, a new reference page, a newly improved   subdivision index, and a correct scale.  Since 2004, the Tax Map Atlas has been made available in digital form on CD and contains a searchable sub-index and print-on-demand capabilities.  Updated pages are being created from the Champaign County GIS Consortium GIS database as opposed to the older mylar pages.

The current version, the 30th Edition Tax Map Atlas, is available for sale at $450 per printed copy (with complimentary digital CD copy) or  $50 for a digital copy only.  Purchases can be made by bring payment to the CCRPC reception desk where they are currently available for pickup.  (Make check payable to CCRPC.)    Previous years' Tax Map Atlas books and CDs may be available in limited quantities--please inquire if interested.  For additional information or questions about the Tax Map Atlas contact Leanne Brehob-Riley at 217-328-3313.
