
Child Abduction Investigation

This 1-day course will cover the initial
response and investigation of abducted children. The training is
appropriate for all police officers, especially investigators, supervisors, and
youth officers.
Those attending will be provided with a comprehensive handbook detailing the
investigation procedures in a step by step format. Students will be
provided with samples of standardized worksheets for conducting a neighborhood
canvas, a vehicle canvas, a business canvas, and a sex offender canvas.
Samples of Phone Tip Worksheets and Lead Assignment Worksheets
will also be provided.
In addition, students will be given complete information and forms for Amber
Alert and the Illinois Criminal Code statutes regarding child abduction.
Each student will receive a detailed bound handout, other related handout
materials, and an informational CD with over 150 resource documents.
