This seminar will feature an analysis of current Illinois Juvenile Law from multiple perspectives.  Included will be an overview of the Police Training Board's Illinois Police Agency Model Juvenile Handbook and Procedures Manual, the Policies and Procedures of the Illinois Juvenile Justice System produced by the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority, and the Illinois Juvenile Court Act.

The latest legislative amendments concerning Juvenile Justice will be listed and analyzed.  Topics will include changes in adult prosecutions for minors; sex offender registration changes for minors; and changes in the age requirements for minors to be treated as juveniles.  In addition, the latest case law concerning juveniles will be discussed, including Searches & Seizures and Confessions & Admissions.

This training will benefit patrol officers, investigators, supervisors, probation officers, prosecutors, and youth detention staff.
