Mark Edwards - Director

Mark Edwards has 28 years experience administering the Training Project.  Prior to his current position he was a Law Enforcement Planner for the Danville Police Department and the Vermilion County Sheriff's Department.  He was assigned to the Crime Analysis Team, a multi-jurisdictional program funded by the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration (LEAA).  His educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  While at Illinois he performed six seasons in the percussion section of the U of I Marching Band (with Chief Illiniwek).  After graduation he became a drum instructor for the Marching Illini.

Mark Krug - Training Coordinator

Mark Krug joined the Police Training Team in December 2006.  His primary responsibilities include pre-course planning, registration, instructor coordination, and supervising programs on-site.  He is also responsible for the database management of student training records as well as updating the Mobile Team 12 class schedule on the State Training Board's Web site.  Prior to his current position he worked in Court Diversion Services for Champaign County as a Juvenile Mediator for five years.  His educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in History and a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  In his spare time, Mark enjoys weight lifting, shooting, and studying military history.
