After an in-home energy assessment, the MHI will provide participating mobile home residents with products and information on how to save energy. Qualifying applicants will receive free energy-saving products and equipment to help them reduce their energy use. This initiative is provided at no cost to the participating mobile home residents.

The MHI application process is accepting applications until further notice. Click here to find the full application packet. There are also printed applications available at the RPC’s office inside the Brookens Administrative Center in Urbana (1776 E. Washington Street). Applications are served on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please review all documents before submitting them. Missing signatures or documents can lead to delays in processing your application. Questions about the program or the application can be directed to 224-374-6278 or info@MobileHomeInitiative.com.

Services

All qualifying applicants will receive an Energy Savings Kit with easy-to-install products that help save energy, such as LED lights, advanced power strips, low-flow showerheads, and faucet aerators.

The MHI seeks to enhance all customers’ knowledge of energy efficiency in their homes to further help reduce monthly energy bills.

All qualifying applicants will receive an energy efficiency assessment and energy literacy education from a qualified energy expert.

Select mobile home residents will also receive energy-saving equipment, such as new heating equipment (gas furnace or air source heat pump), added insulation, a smart thermostat, and/or air and duct sealing. The equipment will be installed by a program-approved licensed contractor.
